On February 9th 2007 Globe Research, with the support of the City Council of Rome, the University of Rome La Sapienza and the Centre for Iranian Studies at the University of Durham, has organized a conference entitled “Iran’s Emerging Role, an Assessment of Iran's Regional and International Policy”.

….Since the Islamic Revolution of 1979 Iran has been the focus of world wide interest. Much before 9/11 the Iranian Revolution has shown to the world that religion was returning at the center of geopolitical scenarios, with all the consequences that this meant.

Today Iranian aspirations to acquire nuclear capabilities is causing much international turmoil.

All these issues make it necessary to create a forum of discussion where experts and policy makers would meet to delineate an understanding of the mechanisms, reasons, and necessities that are behind the growth of the Iranian crisis.

Also, with an Iran looking promising in terms of foreign investments it is essential trying to create expert teams in order to be informed of investment capabilities and potentials of target regions such as Iran which would allow businessmen to develop fruitful relations with local and international experts….

The conference will be started with an opening speech of the Mayor of Rome Hon. Walter Veltroni, and terminated with closing remarks by the Italian Minister of Interior, Hon. Giuliano Amato, and the Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Massimo D’Alema.

This event will be open only to the invited guests -a selected group of experts from the European Union, the Middle East and the United States- and journalists, and structured according to the program.

The venue will be inside the Capitolini Museum. This exceptional location has been put at the organization’s disposal by the Council of Rome.
